Home!
Things did not go very smoothly on the way home. My flight out of Okinawa was approximately 49 minutes late. Very unusual for Japan! I had a mere 90-minute window between my flight landing in Okinawa and my boarding time at Narita airport in Tokyo.
I wasn't certain that was enough time, then factor in a 49 minutes flight delay and an additional 10 minutes baggage delay, and I was fairly certain I wasn't making it home that day. I hopped on the bus toward the Narita airport in the slim chance I would be able to make it. I arrived at the terminal slightly less than 30 minutes before my flight departure time and of course was reasonably denied access.
I was hanging out at the counter waiting for the next available agent to book a leader or next day flight, when one of the attendants informed me that my flight would be an additional 30 minutes late departing. I have never been so glad to hear that my plane is 30 minutes late!
I squeaked through security just in time to make it to the gate and hear of an additional delay. This prompted me to of course try to spend the rest of my money in duty free before departing.
It was a lovely direct flight home. And I think, I think, that a certain pair of fluffy menaces might have missed me...
(Feeling the love)
I noticed my jet lag was worse than usual this time. I fear I might be getting old! All I wanted to do for the next few days after returning home was take cat naps around the house.

However, it was back to work and full steam ahead.
I had an amazing trip through Japan and would highly recommend it to any traveller of any experience. The most interesting parts to me where the time we spent in smaller backroads towns as well as out and about in nature. The scuba diving was as incredible as promised and I do plan on visiting Japan's reefs and ocean waters again in the future.
For now, I'll have to make do with trying to find the delicious foods we ate during the trip back at home and looking forward to my next scuba adventure.
Stay tuned for at least one guest post from a fellow traveller! Thank you for following me on this journey and I hope to be writing to you from another amazing destination soon.
Any suggestions? :)
