A day in town

Not much to post today! We just took it easy and soaked in resort life. It was a pretty rare day for our gang. No 4 am wake up, no extreme sports, no long boat or bus ride... It felt weird.

Erin bought a local fruit in town on our first day: mamey. They said to let it ripen until soft. It turned out to have a texture similar to sweet potato and a flavour sort of like apricot.

Not really a fan... So we fed it to Chubs, our balcony iguana friend.

He was not a fan either.

After a leisurely breakfast, we hopped on the complimentary bikes for a quick pedal into town.

Return of Ol' Rusty!

We wandered and shopped a little then headed back to Chabil Mar so mom and Erin could be pampered with "THE BEST Thai massages EVER". Dad and I loafed around on the beach while this was going on.

Besides happy hour, I don't think I left my shady beach lounge chair all freakin' afternoon. It was glorious.

For dinner, the whole gang headed to the Tipsy Tuna for tacos and Garifuna drumming and dancing.

Some pretty adorable kids forced the whitest worst dancers ever to the stage area with them (all the 'kids' from our group). I couldn't get a single serious little face to crack a smile even when I busted out the running man and bring it around town arms. But exploding high fives coupled with "up top and down low" finally earned a grin just before we left.
