Exploring Placencia Town
We woke up surprisingly late this morning to full sun and strong winds. We also discovered we had a new, nosy neighbour…
The dive boat for our first three dives on Glover's Reef departs at 5:30 am. So good night!
We decided to walk along the beach into town after breakfast. It was a hard walk because the sand is deep and hot.
Buy a private island anyone?
When we arrived at the southernmost point of Placencia, we started wandering up the main road of the town.
Not much to report on! Just a myriad of souvenir shops, restaurants, and fruit stalls.
The beach boardwalk.
We stopped for lunch and mojitos at Tipsy Tuna on the beach. Good times had by all!
Considering I was 15 minutes away from heat stroke, I was glad to head back to the hotel for a swim and a nap before early dinner at Wendy's.

P.S. I have done a terrible job preparing for the dive part of this trip. First, I lost my PADI card and dive book months ago (got a new one just in the nick of time). Second, I bought a cool new dive light and left it in Maui (I hope). Third, I got a soft mask strap and lost it before I got it home from the store. Fourth, I spent hours setting up my GoPRO Hero 3 on the computer, got a fancy underwater grip in the Houston airport on the way, and now distinctly remember leaving the micro SD card in my desktop card reader. *slow clap*
