Placencia Arrival
While in Belize, my family and I will be headquartered in Placencia. It's a peninsula in the southern state of Stann Creek. To get there from Belize City, we were loaded into one of the smallest planes I've ever flown in. A Cessna C208B Caravan.
We arrived fairly late at the resort. Just enough time to hit the bar, snarf down some fresh snapper, and go for a night swim in the pool. Tough life, eh?
Some of us were more nervous than excited...
There were great views along the way! I wasn't able to spot any magestic sea cows from above though.
Our pilot let our co-traveller ride shot gun and told us about the shrimp farms and citrus fields below.
We are staying at the Chabil Mar (Maya for beautiful sea) resort. It has been years since I stayed at any place as nice as this or resembling a resort. I feel uncomfortably fancy...
