Dance Party in Phnom Penh

On the same day as Choeung Ek and Tuol Sleng we had a reprieve from sorrow when we were invited to our local guide's home for dinner and to teach English. We met 12 children from his home village that attend school at the house.

The girls
I immediately was approached by a little girl and her gang of friends. We all introduced ourselves, said how old we were, declared nice to meet you and then things delightfully devolved into kart wheels, spinning and signing.

We taught the kids nothing in the end except the Hokey Pokey, but everyone had a great time.

Doing the Macarena
The group bought a bunch of school supplies for the students which we handed out before going upstairs to join Ran's family for dinner.

There was SO MUCH FOOD! We barely made a dent. The remainder goes to the students though so it wasn't a waste.

Then back down to the classroom for a karaoke and dance party with the kids. That's right. Get them good and riled up before bed.
