Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh
Border crossing day. Piling on a huge empty bus, we made our way to Vietnam exit visa control and Cambodia border control. It wasn't a super exciting 6 hour day on the bus...
Securing an exit stamp wasn't difficult but was time consuming. You pile off the bus, stand in a big group while border agents check your passport and handwrite a Cambodia entry visa for you, then you are called to move through the agents cubicles and have your passport and visa checked again. I was lucky and got called through the crowded, hot waiting area first and stood outside in the sun for 40 minutes. Ick.
Over on the Cambodian side, it was a delightful bureaucratic mess. A bunch of us had e-visas and a bunch had to get visas made onsite. The onsite visas were faster than our already secured visas. We stood in line to have our e-visa checked, then stood back in a different line to have our immigration card checked and get photographed and fingerprinted. Then in another line to check your entry stamp. Oh well, good job creation I guess.
When we arrived in Phnom Penh, we had just enough time for a quick cyclo ride around the centre of town before dinner.
Speaking of dinner, Ang and Nicole got crazy and ate deep fried tarantula. Watch if you dare!

Ang said it tasted like jerky. Spider jerky...
