Day 12 - Jaipur

For the short 5-hour jaunt to Jaipur, we hired a private bus. It was a beater but far less crowded and vomitty than the other bus.

Our hotel is quite lovely! The walls are a mosaic of broken blue pottery.

We made our way to the centre of the town. The traffic and pedestrians are crazy! It is a city of more than 4 million though... We walked through a busy market, stopping at a local sweet shop to sample the local fare. I had ras malai and jalaibe. Look for it at your favourite Indian restaurant. Delish!

Monkeys doin' it everywhere!
Now it was time for one of my most anticipated activities: a Bollywood movie! The theatre was huge and looked like a glamorous theatre from the 50s. We say in the very front row because the seats were not designed with long legs in mind. The film was quite western, like an episode of Glee. It was called Student of the Year. The lead actor was totally hot, the girls beautiful, the dancing cheesy, and all body shots in slow motion. It was delightful! I'm going to have to find it with subtitles and get the girls together to watch and drink wine.

After the movie, we went for a fairly fancy dinner including a tandoori menu and got our much needed meat fix. Then the Canada/Russia alliance enjoyed drinks on the patio and called it a night.
