Northern Lights
I had the most incredible experience on the first leg of our flights. Once the lights in the cabin were turned down, I looked out the window to the north of the plane. It was easy to see we were flying parallel to the big dipper, but I noticed something strange on the horizon. It was a faint green light dancing along the ocean. As I continued to ponder what it could be, it grew in size and intensity. It was the Northern Lights!
I spent the next hour of the flight watching the aurora shift green, white and gold from 35,000 feet while the other passengers (including my fart, snoring, seat-hog old man neighbour) slept. I did not feel the need to share this wonder with anyone else.
